306 A VIDEO WRITING SEMINAR

Video production can be one of the most fun ways of developing your artistic expression. The ability to write video scripts puts you in the center of the "video buzz" today. Video writing teaches skills to conceive and design visual messages that portray people's aims. In this class you will learn to think visually. You will learn the art of scripting and the principles of audio-visual "language." You will compare good and bad scripts as well as develop an in-class concept and have the chance to try your hand at scripting it. Via role plays and discussion, we will investigate the uses of voice-over narration, dialogue, sound effects, music, and camera shots and sequences.
